enigine would you put in it? I'm thinking if I am going to spend $20K-$25K on a car that is going to be a toy and not a daily driver (TTZ or 3rd gen RX7 modified) then why not go all out and have a swet-ass kit car and build it up just the way I want it? I mean they have some really nice kits out there. Imagine a nice Austin Heally 3000 kit with all leather and modern interior, seats, cruise control, heater that works good, etc. I think a SupraTT motor and 6spd tranny would be soooo kick ass as the power train. You could put all the performance goodies on it, have it make tons of power and be Toyota reliable all day long. Don't kill me for the Supra motor thing please! :) don't inline motors of the same # of cylinders and displacement put out more torque than a "V"? Nice wide aluminum rims and wheels, 18's on it...mmmmm.....And think how light it would be! You could embarras all those BDF's with their huge motors and paltry power outputs. The Heally's had I6's in them originally (3 litres, no less!) so it would kinda be like the original setup. You would need Bernie's tration control on it to keep the ass end planted anywhere under 80 mph! LOL And it would be a convertible. I really love the AC Cobra kits, but it seems like everyone does that if they do a kit and I want to do something different. And no Ferrari or Lambo kits, no matter how sweet they are, ppl still just think "hhmm a knock off of the real thing" and you will never get the respect you want. No crappy US-hot rod '32 fords or anything for me, either. Maybe a Chatem 7, those are sweet and LIGHT and fast even with a Rover 1.9L 4banger in them. Anyway, maybe it is a pipe-dream, but it sure sounds sweet! I guess I am kinda partial to the Heally's becuase my dad had one for 13 years in England, an absolutley gorgeuos '57 2-tone blue and cream(that years British LeMans teams colors). He totally restored it and had wire wheels, knock-offs and all on it. Used to drive it only a cple days a year when there was absolutley no threat of rain(only a few days in England! LOL) the rest of the time stayed under a car cover in the garage. I remember him taking me out for rides in it in his twead driving hat...when he hit the gas and that gorgeous straight 6 ehxaust note sang out, you couldn't help but smile :)!! And eveyone would wave as you drove thru all the little villages near ours. Oh well, sorry for babling...What do you guys think? Mike
